Until recently most building operations solutions have relied on static and siloed forms of data visualization which often provide incomplete and fragmented information regarding building operations. Now, Enertiv, a smart building operations specialist, has launched Enertiv 360, a new application that embeds real-time sensor data into 3D displays capable of replicating a digital twin of the entire mechanical and electrical infrastructure of large buildings.

The company says it is uniquely positioned to deliver the first ‘digital twin’ technology for day-to-day operations in commercial real estate. The patent-pending smart building technology is expected to be a game-changer as it combines IoT sensor data, machine learning, and 3D visualizations to enable operators to access digital replicas of assets remotely.

“Enertiv is already the leader in digitizing physical assets using sensor data. Now Enertiv 360 allows us to visualize our insights in a much more intuitive and powerful way,” stated Connell McGill, CEO, and co-founder of Enertiv who added that the company has plans to work with leading operators to build a fully integrated technology suite soon.

First digital twin for commercial real estate

Existing solutions for streamlining building operations are based on charts and graphs that are inherently difficult to use by field operators and have no 3D or virtual experience. However, Enertiv 360 can seamlessly embed real-time data and digitized documentation directly into the visualizations, saving operators valuable time and reduce third-party service costs.

Enertiv 360 provides building operators with real-time remote access to equipment-specific documentation and vendor contacts, up-to-the-minute performance data, and detailed information regarding equipment faults.

The new solution enables building operators to streamline their processes and realize up to 20% cost savings in both maintenance and utility spend, the company says.

Unlike existing digital twin technologies used in manufacturing and construction, the company says its new platform is designed specifically for real estate portfolios, and the fully scalable solution can be deployed in a range of building regardless of their age or the sophistication of the building operating system.

Most buildings can be brought online within one to two days, and the platform can start delivering insights within weeks after deployment.

To date, Enertiv’s customer-base of commercial office, multifamily, industrial and hospitality portfolios which Colliers International, Prologis, SL Green, and Rudin Management have achieved a return on investment of over 230%.

Enertiv was a recipient of the 2018 RETA award for smart building technology by CREtech and if funded by Fifth Wall and MetaProp NYC.
