Getronics inks deal to provide smart building solutions in Singapore

Getronics Solutions Pte, the Singapore unit of global ICT company Getronics, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Boustead Projects Limited, a Singaporean real estate solutions provider for the provision of integrated smart building solutions for industrial buildings, industrial parks and integrated digital cities.

Getronics highlighted that the implementation of IoT technologies and automation in smart buildings has led to increasingly complex building management systems often comprising multiple disparate systems and devices. This presents challenges for facility managers to  integrate the different systems and devices in order to achieve intended productivity and efficiency gains, the company said.

The firm also noted that IoT technologies are already ‘smart’ in a stand-alone way but highlighted that a true smart building experience is created by enabling and automating multiple simultaneous business processes between multiple heterogeneous systems.

Getronics’ technologies will help Boustead Projects to leverage unified building management solutions that enable the effective integration and interoperability of multiple connected systems across an entire portfolio of properties.

Mukul Jain, Managing Director APAC and International of Getronics, said “We are proud to collaborate with an innovative and trusted player in the real estate market like Boustead Projects. Singapore is the perfect place to push our own boundaries in innovation and creativity with an intelligent infrastructure that will define and showcase the future of smart buildings.”

Thomas Chu, Managing Director of Boustead Projects, said “Just as being a one-stop provider for integrated real estate solutions has allowed Boustead Projects to meet the diverse, unique needs of our growing client base, we believe that integrated smart building solutions are also key towards developing effective, workable solutions for next-generation smart buildings.”

“Leveraging on Getronics’ technologies for smart buildings will further augment our integrated suite of innovative, transformative real estate solutions addressing an entire building lifecycle. Getronics is a proven technology partner of choice and we look forward to forging a synergistic partnership with them, capitalising on our exciting pipeline of development projects as well as the other strategic platforms we have established to support our regional and sectoral expansion,” Chu added.

Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Getronics has over 9,000 employees in 23 countries across Europe, Asia Pacific, North and Latin America,

Established in 1996, Boustead Projects Limited has constructed and developed more than 3,000,000 square metres of real estate regionally in Singapore, China, Malaysia and Vietnam.

The company has developed projects in the aerospace, business park, food, healthcare and pharmaceutical, high-tech manufacturing, logistics, research & development, technology and waste management industries, among others.
