Building Controls & Solutions (BCS) announced the acquisition of Control Products, which is a provider of building automation systems and components based in Houston, Texas. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

BCS said that Control Products will “bring significant control system capabilities” to the BCS team in Texas and Louisiana, where it will be combined with Amcon Controls to provide broader coverage and deeper service to customers across the region. BCS said that the acquisition is a continuation of its strategy to grow its position in the North American building automation market with support and capital from its financial sponsor, LKCM Headwater Investments.

Building Controls & Solutions is a provider of energy management, building controls, automation and gas detection solutions for commercial HVAC, including distribution of products and in-market value added services. The acquisition of Control Products will offer more resources, technical expertise, and partnerships to expand services for customers, BCS said.

“We are excited to bring together the two strongest Controls teams in Texas: Amcon Controls and Control Products. As a distributor we bring strong global product brands and inventory together with local in-market technical resources. Our value starts with high quality products and is truly enhanced by solutions that bring customized value-added services to our commercial building customers every day,” Building Controls & Solutions’ CEO, Eric Chernik, said.

Amcon Controls is a distributor of HVAC control components and systems with locations in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas and New Orleans.

With headquarters in Farmers Branch/Dallas, Texas, Building Controls & Solutions also has presence in Utah, Louisiana, New Mexico, and California. Some of the company’s main partners include Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, ACI, Bapi, KMC Controls and Tosibox.
